New Plants (and a New Book!)

Gifted hybridizer Dieter Bechthold of Wuppertal, Germany, introduces Nymphaea 'Pattern Ruby'. "It is my best hardy waterlily cultivar. I think it is the first waterlily with a pattern in the blossom and leaves." Shimmering ruby red petals are broadly streaked with white and the maroon pads are splashed with dark green.
